Bianca's world


Here are the selected models for Bianca's room(+living room).
This world represents a typical interior design which has stylish home furnishings.

CandyScape Final LOGO!


The following is the final logo for CandyScape. Red and yellow colours as well as the metallic black oval were chosen to symbolize the vibrant dynamics and balance, as well as the all-roundness nature of the team respectively. Yeah! (^^,)V

Heroine Prototype

I have created several prototypes of our heroine.

This the first prototype.
The second, which looks more like a man.

Emotion AI

Since we have an adventure, puzzle-solving role-playing game, we need more life to our NPCs so that our player can feel the difference whenever he moves on to another world.

Apart to the different settings/locations of the game, the player should also feel a difference when he talked to an NPC. Our NPCs are supposed to be constantly interacting with our player, and even the environment.

Our villian in the game is able to world-travel as our heroine can, their arrival in a certain world should have an impact on the citizens there. We hope to create some affections or hatred to the player as a result of the player's actions.

Example, if a world has recently been visited by the villian, the citizens may become more easily agitated, more hostile for foreigners etc. The opposite works the same for our heroine.

Final candidates for the 8 worlds

Based on the survey as well as some considerations, they are

Survey 01- Results

Today, survey 01 has successfully been conducted to explore the type of worlds preferred by youths of age 13 to 14 year olds. The survey question is as the following:

Game Demo Summary: Bianca is holding on to a cursed bracelet which has the power to destroy worlds. To destroy this bracelet, she has to travel between the 8 worlds to find the demon’s lair. You have to help Bianca solve puzzles to reveal the pathways to other worlds, while avoiding the demon who is hunting for her bracelet.

The following are our results:

From the results, we observe that Underwater Civilization is a neutral favourite regardless of gender, followed by Cybercity (Matrix-type) and the idea of having High-Tech civilization in a Rainforest. Interestingly, it is observed that Outerspace world appeals more to boys whilst world of Mazes is greatly appealing to girls.

As our game development project is exploratory in nature, we shall develop the 'High-tech civilization in Rainforest' world idea and focus on how our game mechanics shall further appeal to the youths.
